I’ve started work on a new project for a local kids newspaper (Central New York) . I will be creating and maintaining their new blog, Kids Standard Extra..The Blog!
Even though I JUST started it, jump on over and subscribe to the site so you will be notified as soon as the new post comes out. We also have a Google Friend Connect gadget, so show your “mug” there!
This is online, so the world is invited to visit and leave a comment, although it must be family friendly. The newspaper itself is written for the most part by kids for kids, although there are some articles from doctors, teachers or other adults.
The brainchild of this newspaper is Maggie Razdar. I met Maggie just after she started this project and I’ve tried to help distribute the papers around and spread the word. My daughter actually wrote an article that was published in that paper about Toothpick City II.
The paper has naturally been spreading further and further out from Central New York.
In a strange twist of fate, Maggie’s husband was transferred to Michigan. The family had to move out of Central New York.
The Amazing Maggie turned lemons into lemonade by starting a kids newspaper around her new home in Oakland county. So now there are two areas where the paper is in circulation.
Now they have taken it a step further and gone online!
So now matter where you live, get over there and be our friend NOW!

NOW ACCEPTING PRAYERS…
When I tested my link for the Toothpick City website, I noticed a short note from Stan, the artist behind Tooth Pick City I & II. His work is simply amazing! When my daughter interviewed him, he was actually working on a new building- right in the middle of the museum. We got to see how he does it. If you haven’t seen his work- go check it out.
But first read his note- his wife is in need of prayer. So if you would be so kind, say a prayer for Suzi and then hop over to the site, look at Stan’s amazing work, and send him a word of encouragement.
Thanks!
The Note from Stan:
My wife is sick with polycystic kidney/liver disease, if you’re a fan of this website or my work, I would appreciate a quick prayer… no matter what your religion. Thanking you in advance… oh yeah, her name is Suzi… and trust me–she’s worth it. She’s everything to me…
