My daughter is away at camp until tomorrow. I have been trying to get updated with my home business stuff since getting the computer back.
Yesterday I woke up- did my emails and read a few blogs. Then, I threw work to the wind (sort of) and took a break.
My friend “L” is a “new” New Yorker. She has lived in Texas, California and Arizona for the majority of her life. Her husband is from here. They came out here a year or so ago. Her husband worked with Ron, which is how we became friends.
Anyhoo, she hasn’t been to a lot of the “hot spots” In Central New York, so I took her to one of the parks which is on a lake.
They have miles of walking trails that run along the lake, you can rent bikes, kayaks and rowboats. There is also a tram that stops at several points along the way. There are playgrounds scattered along the way and a food stand at one of the stops. There are also grills and picnic tables everywhere.
They also have a great dog park, but I left puppy home. No dogs allowed on the trams………….and I wanted my friend to experience that. Sorry Cosmo (the puppy!)
I swear, we had the most beautiful day you could get! It was in the mid 80′s but felt cooler because it was slightly overcast and breezy. It’s always a little cooler by the lake anyway.
We started out walking, just talking and taking in the sights. We walked about 2 miles – until we got to the food stand.
We had a hot dog, hung out a while, then took the tram from that point to the end of the route, and back again to where the tram starts.
Then we left. We were there several hours and we were both beat! We went back to her place and hung another hour or so, then I left.
I rushed around the grocery store looking for something easy to make indoors as it looked like rain was on the horizon.
I get home around 5:30- no one’s here! Ron is on a road call and the boy’s were still at work picking blueberries.
The boys got home around 6:30 and had already bought something to eat on the way home. Ron showed up around 8 p.m. and announced he had grabbed a couple of slices of pizza when he was out.
Cool!
I fended for myself and had my favorite zucchini dish. I’ll put the recipe up tomorrow…
Now I must go to the library and get a dream book for my Journal Writing class tonight. We are analyzing dreams- always a lot of fun!
BTW- On my other blog, I posted about a great exercise to do if you are a business owner. Check it out HERE.
