[editors note: This was actually written the other day, but I somehow neglected to publish it then! Distractions....]
Thanksgiving was an awesome time of friends of family coming together and pigging out just sharing a little bit of love for one another and to give thanks for what we have.
The day after Thanksgiving, my daughter and I went down to Pennsylvania to see my mom and uncle. My sister was also there from Virginia with her husband and granddaughter.
We went downtown for a Christmas parade and the lighting of the tree in the park. It was a great time. They had candy for the kids, Christmas carols and candles for people to light and hold.
It was especially funny when they said they wanted to see everyone rock around the Christmas tree as they played the song of the same name. My sister and I really got into that. Then we accused each other of being like our mother. A little joke between us…
Love you mom
Church on Sunday was a blessing , as always.
Yesterday I was a bit under the weather, but I’m back!
I’m way behind on EVERYTHING but hey, what can I say?
One bright moment to my day….
I was getting the boxes of Christmas stuff out for my daughter to do the tree later. As I carried one bin out, I looked down and spied a business card sitting on the top.
I picked it up and read it. It was my grandmothers card from when she was an antiques dealer. She passed away several years ago.
Christmas was her absolute favorite time of the year.
I took a picture of it and sent it to my mom, sister and nephew with a note , “Grandma June said hello…”
That was weird…I have no idea how that card got there. I’m not even sure I had a card, although my mom may have given me one when Grandma died. But how it got there and not in my huge journaling folder, I’ll never know…
At least till I get to heaven!
