Most of my son’s friends either have babies or are having babies (rather their partners are). My son is 20 years old; some of his friends are even younger.
I love babies, but I’m glad my son has waited to make me a Grandma.
I see these young parents having such a hard time finding jobs. When they do, it’s for low pay. They are definately NOT paying for a high class daycare!
I’m glad my son doesn’t have that weight to carry!
For now I can reap the benefits of having my step-grandchildren around. And for the last couple of days, I’ve been watching his friends baby- I think she’s 9 months old.
She’s a super cutie. Right now she has got to be tired- she’s been here since 6:30 a.m.
But no…
I lay her down and she laughs, kicks her legs and hops up and starts crawling around.
Too funny!
Of course when my kids were little, those antics probably wouldn’t have been so funny….
Ironically, the day before the Daddy asked me to watch the babe, one of the girls that the kids knew growing up contacted me. She needs a sitter for her 4 year old.
Funny, I am having a ball. I did home daycare for years and really always loved the kids. And it enabled me to be home with my kids.
Now I do several things online, so don’t really need to babysit.
But I think when the opportunity presents itself, I may go for it.
The only thing is, I don’t want to babysit during the summer when we have camp. Last year it was great to just stay from the end of June until mid-August full-time. What a great life!
So listen up all you moms & dad’s out there! I may be here today, but come June…I’m outta here!
Get your kidz over to Granny C now!
And that’s all she wrote- gotta go play with the baby!

Glad you’re having fun
I look forward to doing the same, some day (far in the future).

It really is fun and the good news is, I can (usually) send them home…
Our Grandson does typically come for a night or two each week…but still he eventually leaves and we have peace & quiet again : )
Have a great week – thanks for stopping by.
