Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you’re all hanging with people you love today, whether it’s with family or friends.
Today I want to talk about blessing others. As my regular readers know, last weekend I took a class at my church called , “The Art of Hearing God”. It was being presented in Orlando at The Bridge Orlando church, and we took it at my church via live streaming through the computer. Gotta love modern technology!
I have to say, that class was awesome. Intense, but awesome. It was 2 hours Thursday night and 12 hours both Friday & Saturday. I had a ton of information overload, yet Saturday night I just had some awesome visions. When I went to church Sunday, Mrs. Pastor (he & she are both pastors
asked me if I slept well the night before. When I said no, she said not too many people from the class did. The Holy Spirt was moving that night!
One thing I learned is that God talks to us through words, dreams and visions a lot more than we realize. Sometimes we don’t recognize it for what it is, and sometimes we may have something going in our lives (sin…ouch!) that is blocking the flow.
I’ve always been what I call “intuitive”. I have often known when people are pregnant, I’ve sensed a few deaths before they happened, known when people were unhappy or in need even if they didn’t “show” it. Stuff like that.
Lately I have just been in the mood to bless people. I have always put change in the red kettles that the Salvation Army puts out during the holidays. Some days I would put money in every one I saw, even if I went to 5 or 6 stores. I know, it all goes to the same place. Oh well, that’s what I felt like doing at the time.
Last week I had child support court. My ex-husband had lost his job. He’s in Oregon and could attend court via phone. I had to go into the city each time. 3 or 4 times in all! Not sure if the ex forgot about the time change, but he didn’t show up 2 or 3 times- and he’s the one who was bringing me to court-lol!
I always park in the same lot. The same fellow is always working there. He seems like a nice enough guy. Not too young, not too old.
As I was getting ready to go that morning a thought popped into my head…..”Give the parking lot guy a $5.00 tip and tell him to have a Merry Christmas”
I just kept thinking about that the whole time I was at court. So I did it!
Now I had to come back to the city later for another appointment and park in another facility. I was scurring around that morning to make sure I had enough cash on hand for everything I had to do that day.
But I gave the guy the $5.00 and I swear he was flabbergasted!
I ended up having enough money for everything that day.
I did not feel compelled to give the attendant at the second parking facility anything.
Since then day I have felt that urge a couple of more times and acted on them. The people (when it involved people) have just looked so “Touched”. For some reason I don’t even miss the money. Of course at times it’s only chunk change.
But to some that may mean a gallon of milk for the kids. I don’t know if that parking lot guy even need the money. But if he didn’t, maybe he’ll turn around and bless someone else!
I was thinking of ways that we may bless others, even when at times we feel like WE need the blessing!
1. If you live in a state that requires a deposit on bottles and cans, put all of your “proceeds” from your can returns in the tip bucket.
2. Empty out your change purse and put it in one of those charity containers at a fast food restaurant or store. Just empty it out in front of everyone…maybe someone else will feel compelled to do the same.
3. Buy Christmas gifts for a child or family in need.
A few non-monetary blessings
1. Offer to babysit for someone so they can go shopping or out on a “date”
2. Invite someone that you sense is in need out to lunch or over for supper.
3. Listen…sometimes people just need someone to talk to. You don’t have to offer solutions, just listen. Send out “love vibes” as you pray for them.
Ok, so I should get off my pulpit here….but in closing I just wanted to encourage you to ask God how he’d like you to bless others. Then just pay attention to your thoughts, dreams and any visions you have.
When we bless others, we are blessed right back!
Have a great day!

Hi Carolee,
Great post! I’m sure you know I’m an intuition expert. I absolutely agree that God, speaks to us through our intuition. When we learn to listen we will receive all the guidance and inspiration we need to create a most wonderful and successful life. As we open up spiritually we also become more attuned to the pulse of life all around us as well. Our empathy and compassion for others increases and we hear and act upon the impulse to give to others more readily too. You are a great example. God bless you and I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
All my best,
Angela
