Some even have “rules” to get into heaven if you will.

And the services may vary. Sit down, stand-up, now let’s all kneel.

Led by the priest or pastor? Or led by the spirit.

Services that last an hour a week- once a week? Or several hours a day- several days a week.

Or is time not an issue when the Lord is in the house?

Beautiful soft Hymns, Contemporary Christian music. Maybe no music.

Maybe a song here and there. Perhaps worship lasts an hour.

I think the way people worship is one of the BIGGEST differences I have seen between different churches.

Don’t get me wrong, some of the traditional hymn’s are just beautiful, but if you want to get me fired up for the Lord, I like a livelier beat.

And so do many others.

I almost have to chuckle when someone comes from a traditional church setting to one like….ours! It used to be a a bar/banquet facility.

Now, instead of a rock band thumping out a beat, it’s a Christian Worship team. People go up to the dance floor to give praise by singing along, raising their hands to the Lord, and yes….sometimes jumping around.

You can see new people looking at them like, “Whoa!”

Little do they know that there may be a reason they are jumping around.

We have a fellow in church who jumps around a bit. Doesn’t bother me…

Our church has been doing some teachings on spiritual gifts….prophecey, healing and such.

This fellow who jumps around has a son (who I believe said he is 15) who God has blessed with the gift of healing. The night before this weeks service, his Dad was having a single’s meeting. The 15 yr old ended up joining them. Suddenly he got word of somebody and a medical condition they were having. He prayed over them and healed them. This happened several times during that nights meeting.

He came before the congregation to tell us about it.

Then his father testified how he was once healed. He started out by joking around about his jumping around on the dance floor. Then he told his story.

Several years ago, he had an accident. There was some sheet rock falling, and in the process of grabbing it, this man’s leg twisted around. His foot did not.

It never healed properly, and his toes were essentially paralyzed. You never know how much your toes help you balance and walk until you lose use of them.

Recently he was prayed over and healed!

Feeling came back to his foot and he can again walk normally.

And jump!

And Thank the Lord.

Now if you were healed like that, wouldn’t you jump for joy too?

So remember next time you see someone jumping around in church, they probably have a very good reason! They are most likely NOT a weirdo like most people assume!

Friday Fragments

First, the exciting news….

Little Man is back in town!  For those of you who don’t know Little Man, it’s Ron’s grandson.  Mine too, but I’m not a bio-grandma….just a wonderful one- lol!

Little Man spent a lot of time here as his Daddy lived here until recently.  Last Halloween, we got a call from the other Grandma (mom’s side) crying hysterically.  Her daughter took Little Man and moved to Florida and didn’t call her momma until they were 1/2 way there!

Everyone was devastated to say the least.  We talk to the little guy by phone, but it’s not the same!

The other Grandma drove down to get him as his momma is preggo’s (I TOLD everyone I sensed she was!!!) and wants time to bond with the baby, which is due any minute.  He was only supposed to be here a few weeks, but SURPRISE!  They are moving back!

Great for us so we can see Little Man, but hopefully it will be minus the drama that used to exist between mom & dad.

Grandma (the other one-lol) said when they pulled into our driveway, Little Man yelled, “There’s my Grandpa” and almost opened the door before she stopped.

I know that made Ron feel good!

Little Man spent a good hour or two riding on the riding lawnmower with the Princess and the tractor with Grandpa.  Can’t wait to bring him to camp- most likely next weekend.

Phone problems

A few weeks ago, I kicked AT &T to the curb and went for one of these prepaid phones…$45.00 a month for unlimited text and talk…and some Internet as well.

I loved it … except the phone charger had to be angled a certain way for it to charge.  I had been at camp, 30 minutes from where I got it, so I thought I would address the issue when I went to pay for it.  Unfortunately I must have moved the cord and knocked it out of place when putting the phone down one day.  It died overnight and would not recharge.

So I took it in and they gave me a new phone. I LOVE this one.  It’s metallic green.  Easy to text with (I’m still a newbie texter).  This phone charged great, and held the charge for two days!

Unfortunately, it never charged again.

Now I have a new battery- so we’ll see!

All together I spent about 3 hours at the store, drove over 100 miles by going there three times (or was it 4???) and spent who-knows-how-much on gas to get there!

Hope it continues to work……

So between that and a doctors appointment or two, I have done close to no work this week.  And today, I have an appointment in one city in the morning, and my daughter has one in another city in the afternoon.

Crazy life, I know!

School…….

The Princess goes to high school in a couple of weeks. So far we’ve gotten the calendar, but no homeroom or schedule.  We still need to school shop.  I’m getting sweaty and in a bad mood just thinking about it!

Work/Business

I haven’t done much this week! I did start a new Facebook page the other day for my newest venture…check it out!

Back when my oldest son was just a tyke,  we lived in the city.  I also worked in the city, and we would take a bus home after I picked him up from daycare.

Most people would be bummed, claiming they hate public transportation.  I happened to love it- there was a wide variety of people from all walks of life.  You had the business people, the mom’s out shopping with the kids, and the “not-so-normal” (for lack of a better word).  Plenty of people to observe.

As I would observe people, I wondered what made them tick.  I would imagine what their wives, houses or kids looked like.  If they were “not-so-normal”, why not? Birth defect, child abuse, drugs……

I like the facts-lol.

And that pertains to news stories.  It just irks me how you never get the whole story.

If a teen goes on a rampage and kills his mother and father, why?  A child that was raised in a loving, caring environment doesn’t just go around shooting up their parents.  So why would one? I want to know what led to that moment- that’s just the way I am.

I hate not knowing something….

For example, the other day a friend and I were going up to the rec hall at camp to do a jigsaw puzzle, drink coffee and eat snacks. It was raining like the dickens and we wanted something to do.

Lori, the campground owner’s daughter (and one of the managers here)  pulled up in her car.

“You guys need to go back to your campers and lock yourselves in or go home.  There was just a home invasion down the road and the suspects are going around randomly shooting people.”

We had heard a gunshot, but that’s not totally unusual here in the boonies…maybe someone was shooting a squirrel for dinner!

We went back to our campers and locked up.  I have no TV reception, so I jumped on the computer to the city’s news website.  Very little information was provided.

My friend Sue was watching TV- it wasn’t even mentioned!

Come to find out, the authorities had issued a reverse 911 call to the public warning them. We certainly wouldn’t have known about it from the news!

My way of thinking is, if you give a description of the suspects and their get away car, the public can be on the look out, too.  There’s more of us than there are authorities!

I just wanted a description so if they came into the campgrounds, I would know….

I was on the lookout (through the crack in my closed curtains-lol)

I figured if they shot at the camper, I had a good chance of survival if I hunkered down in the “hallway” of the camper between the closet and bathroom.  At least they would have to shoot through the outside wall of the camper, and then through the closet or bathroom.

Throughout the day, I checked the news.  HOURS after the invasion, they FINALLY revealed that they were on the look out for two black guys with camouflage on carrying long guns and that they ran ON FOOT through the woods. There was only 1 shot fired, no one was hurt.

I just read this morning that they were caught yesterday!

Yeah, now I can walk my dogs down the main road and in the woods!

And then there’s this- another case that is still unsolved as far as I know…..

Several weeks ago there were 3 people shot and killed in a mobile home a few miles away from here (in the other direction).  The authorities were unsure if it was a triple homicide or a double homicide and suicide.  Still no word.

What I want to know….what have they found out about the murders, and are the two cases thought to be related?

And of course, WHY?

Why would someone murder, and why would someone invade a home?

Oh the unanswered questions…they may drive me crazy!

What about you- does it drive you nuts not having the facts, or is it just me?

I say yes….when you are telling a little kid not to go in the road….or not to touch a hot stove- they need to know why.

Now I’ll admit there comes a time when a kid should have learned all of this- by you previously telling them- and shouldn’t need to be told why anymore. Now they are just playing with your emotions by being a brat

Ron and several other guys felt that if you say jump, the only question should be, “How high?”

Not, “Why?”

They feel kids should just “know” not to do certain things, or they will learn…

You know, the school of hard knocks…..

Sure, once they get hit by a car or catch themselves on fire!

But honestly, Ron wasn’t THAT bad with his kids, but he does think that to a point.

The funny thing I noticed is that woman tend to explain stuff to the kids more than the guys.

I just went with it, silently singing it to myself, maybe even tapping my foot.

That night we went to the lawnmower races with my nephew and his son.

In the beginning they did some songs like the Cha-cha slide and the Chicken Dance, and then let the kids run around the track.

Anyone that’s been around here awhile probably knows that my daughter freaks if I sing or dance, even if no one is around!

So, I did what any mother would do…

I “went to the right now, left now you’all, take it back….”

Later, back at the campgrounds, I was just generally singing, making stuff up.

My nephew remarked that I was certainly in a musical mood…

I remarked, “Yeah, I need to get to church and “Boogie to the Lord”….I had missed church the week before and really feel I needed to get it out.

I went to church the next morning and was so blessed.

The first song they sang was “We worship you; hallelujah, hallelujah…”, followed by my favorite song, followed by my next favorite (which is my daughters favorite)

I’m telling you, the spirit was there!

We were boogieing to the Lord.

I don’t think I’ve sweated that much from dancing since my teen days. Everyone was getting into it!

It’s been a busy week (when isn’t it?) ….. I had so much catching up to do after taking three days off the computer for Memorial Day.  Our friends Ed & Tammy pitched a tent at the place where we camp. You can read about it on my other blog, At Home On Wheels

The kids are back……

In the past week- ANOTHER kid moved back in.  He does have a place he will be renting with option to buy, but has to wait a week or so to move in.  So all of his stuff is here, although half the time he stays at friends.

It was funny to wake up yesterday and see my son sleeping on one end of the couch, and one of the stepsons sleeping on the other!

Apparently the three boys are taking turns using the Flop room bedroom.

Weather

Leave it to Central New York to give us a variety of weather. In the past month, we’ve seen snow, rain, 97 degree weather and cold, windy days. Never a boring weather-moment around here.

The boys were talking the other day about how the girls around here dress …skimpy t-shirts (what are they called anyway?) with spaghetti straps , with a normal T-shirt over that, topped off with a hoodie.  As the day warms up, off comes the hoodie,  followed by the t-shirt- the spaghetti strap shirt is the last article of clothing and unlike the guys, it needs to stay on!

Who let the Rooster out?

We came back from camp last week to find out that the rooster is on the missing list! That was our last chicken.  Now we only have 6 ducks left.

I keep asking the boys who shot the rooster?  One of the stepsons did have a B-B gun he brought back here.

They are in denial, but I wonder……

I didn’t get a chance to post much here…in fact the other day I did a Cinchcast instead of writing a post, and Wednesday I posted a Wordless Wednesday pic…can YOU guess what it is?

Little did the ducks know that the dogs would be home early…..

So Ron had to chase them all in, because Rocky is not so nice with the poor ducks.

He is part Lab after all!

This morning, the ducks were out pawing through the grass again.

We won’t mention how long the grass is right now….

Ron had to chase them back in again…

Get back in there you dasterdly ducks!

I said it would be nice if we could train Rocky to leave them alone.  I love watching the ducks just roam around.

I said maybe we should get Rocky a shock collar- give him a shock every time he got near a duck….

But then we got thinking, not only would we not have the heart to shock poor Rocky, but two things could happen…

Ron’s version:  Rocky still goes after a duck, despite repeated shocking.  He grabs it in his mouth and refuses to let go.  He eventually dies of electrocution while the duck happily walks away.

I am going to be getting some new partials up and down.  I already have the lower, but fired my old dentist before we got to the uppers.

That’s another story….

So now I have a new dentist and sometime in the next few months I’ll have some shiny new white teeth…

Then I’ll make a video like everyone else :=)
