Loving Pets Gourmet Meat Sticks (a review)

I was asked by Loving Pets if I would like to do a review of their Gourmet Meat Sticks for dogs.  Since my dogs like goodies, I said “You bet!”

The day the treats arrived it was like Christmas for the dogs AND the grandkids, as they like to give the treats.

We recieved the duck sticks and the pork sticks.  Everyone thought the duck was pretty funny.

The dogs seemed to really like them!

Grandkids giving treats

I like that they are soft sticks.  I can break them up into smaller bits so that we have plenty of treats to do lots of tricks!

Small treats that you purchase tend to be dry and crunchy.

These are soft and moist…a REAL treat.

I mean, which would you prefer? A soft, gooey cookie or a hard crunchy granola bar?

Even better is the fact that they are made with 100% all-natural ingredients.

The pork and duck are both combined with sweet potato, which softens the treat AND adds important vitamins, including

  • Beta-carotene
  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin C
  • Potassium

I was surprised to see there is a store only 8 miles from me who carries that product.

I will most likely be getting more!

Head on over to the Loving pets site to see the other products and check for a store near you.

Sometimes It’s Just a “Bad Egg” Kind of Day!

But Love Saves The Day!

We have a new joke around here. It’s aimed at me but it’s true.

Lately, I have about a 75% out 100% chance of making Ron’s eggs without goofing them up.

I don’t know why. I’ve been making fried eggs for years.

I blame “his” grill.  He doesn’t.

So this morning I yanked out the grill, intent on making the perfect egg for my honey.

I made sure the grill was totally clean.

I then poured some oil onto the grill (not too much, not too little).

I carefully cracked the eggs.

I flipped the eggs without taking them totally off the grill (as you should do according to Chef Dan Eaton on the local news)….

I’ll be darned, I broke one of the yolks!

I apologised to my loving husband.

I gave him his breakfast and said, “But you still love me, right?”

He said, “Of course, darling. You can’t put a price on love.”

What does that have to do with eggs?

I’m not sure…

But it speaks of his compassion toward me.

He’ll eat the eggs, of course cracking a joke along the way…

Like how I should know how to make eggs after this long  :-)

But it’s always with love and a bit of humor.

We try to keep things that way.

That kind of reminds me of Gods way….

He is like a loving Husband or our Earthly father (or how they SHOULD BE…), only 1,000 times more loving and forgiving!

He loves us even when we slip up, he forgives us when we ask for it.

Sometimes he even uses humor.

Keeps life interesting……

He understands that sometime’s we are just having a bad egg kind of day.

If God can do that for us, can we not try to be more compassionate toward others who may be “less than perfect” in our eyes?

Make it your mission to do that today!

P.S. Message on my tea bag this morning:

Compassion has no limit. Kindness has no enemy.

My loving husband riding the kids toy!

Without a trace…because of Grace!

Love the LARGE text feature!

I’ve really been enjoying my new Kindle! I generally have several books I’m reading at once so now everything is in one place and I can even flip back and forth between them with the push of a button.

I LOVE it!

So one of the books I’m reading is called  It’s No Secret: Revealing Divine Truths Every Woman Should Know by Rachel Olsen . Excellent book….

I also downloaded a book to my Kindle last night called

done.: What most religions don’t tell you about the Bible by Cary Schmidt

Both of these books talk alot about Grace and how it pertains to God and what he gives us.

I read this this morning:

Grace is getting what we DON’T deserve (in the form of forgiveness, love and blessings)

Mercy is NOT getting what I do deserve (in the form of “discipline”)

After my reading time, I grabbed my computer and went in my bedroom, the one place I knew the Grandkids wouldn’t bug me.

I set up my computer and went to my favorite Christian Radio station. I was looking forward to some encouraging music as I did some stretches and maybe even a bit of exercise.

I then prepared a cup of tea to bring in with me.  As I glanced at the “Words of Wisdom” on my tea bag and it said this:

Grace brings contentment

I entered the room to this song playing on the computer:

Only Grace by Matthew West

What more can I say?

Check out the song and let me know what you think!

I love that our Sins are gone….with out a trace!

Now that’s Grace!

Worshipful Wednesday Week 5

The Voice of Truth?

Back in February, I was dejunking my office. I ran into several papers from a workshop I had attended regarding Marketing your business. I was listening to a Christain radio station on the computer as I worked.

I picked up a piece of paper and read this:

“Get out of your comfort zone”

As I was reading that, the song below was on and they sang the words “Comfort Zone” at the exact time as I was reading it. I wondered if that wads the Voice of God trying to tell me something.

I have since found out the name of the song, heard it several times and just love it.

So here goes! And don’t forget to comment and leave a link to your Worshipful Wednesday post (if you have one!)

Have a Blessed Week!

I must admit, I LOVE the way Sarah Lavigne Raper sings it…we miss you Sarah!

Sarah has moved on and is really working for the Lord down in Appolo, Florida.

If I don’t get interrupted, I’ll hop!

It’s Friday and I’m in the mood to blog hop ….providing I don’t get interrupted! Um…the story of my life!

So what better place to hop to than Mrs. 444′s place?  Let’s hope this time I remember to leave my link – lol!

Friday Fragments

Two beautiful Violets!

Our Granddaughter, Baby Violet just turned one month and is growing like a weed!

The African Violet I bought when Baby Violet was born hasn’t grown much, but looks beautiful, too!

3 Month Anniversary

Sunday will mine & Ron’s 3 month wedding anniversary! Ironically, we got married on Sunday December 18, 2011 after church. That day, our church had a family & friends breakfast. This Sunday is the 18th and again my church is having a family & friends breakfast.

Me & My Honey!

A new Venture

My church may be starting a library! I went to another church I know about that has a library and met with the librarian there. She gave me tons of information, which I brought back to my Pastors. Mrs. Pastor and I met and discussed everything. She was taking the information back home to share with Mr. Pastor (yes, they are BOTH pastors :-)

…more info to follow!

Speaking of books…

I broke down and bought a Kindle online today! I got a pretty basic model for now until I see if I like it. I find reading on the computer bothersome but I’ve had several people tell me that the Kindle is easy on the eyes. I can’t wait to read in bed and not worry about bothering Ron.

It will also save me lugging around my tote bag (with a book, small bible and notebook) with me everytime we have a appointment. Shove the Kindle into a purse and go!

Of course, I’ll need a bigger purse!

And that is about all the exciting news I can muster up right now.

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!

P.S…..If you haven’t already seen the new meme I started, check out Worshipful Wednesday!

I’ve posted this weeks song in the past, but I love it so much I would like to share it again.

It’s Mandisa singing “Stronger”

Check it and see if you don’t love it too.

P.S. I cried the first 9,433 times I heard this (only a SLIGHT exaggeration!)

Be blessed and love one another as God loves you!

Brain Washed and Filled with Love!

I just had to drop in with this little story. These kids never fail to amaze me. If you’re in the mood for a chuckle and an awwww…moment, read on!

I have been trying to implement a new habit. A good one this time-lol!

Every morning I have been trying to go into my bedroom and spend 1/2 hour- an hour in prayer, listening to God and just emptying of the mind.

One morning last week, Big brother inquired , “What are you doing?”

I remarked that it was Grandma’s quiet time to prepare for the day.

He asked what I do.

I just wanted to shut the door and get going. I said, “I don’t know, a little of everything. Reading, praying, just….emptying my brain!”

The other night, he asked me how to empty his brain.

This is a 5-year-old!

I told him to go somewhere quiet and just sit and try NOT to think about anything. Maybe count to 4 as you breathe in and out, in and out.

He ran into the bedroom to “empty his brain”.

About 10 minutes later he comes back and declares that he emptied his brain.

The only problem, he said, is this: The only person he remembers is Grandma (me!)

He says (in his cowboy twang), “I emptied my brain, but the only person I can remember is YOU, Grandma!”

I told him that was a shame.

A few minutes later, he says, “I remember everyone now and I LOVE everyone! I emptied my brain of everything bad and filled it with love! I’m all full of love!”

I thought that was too cute.

And an indication that kids do listen.

Big Brother doesn’t know a whole lot about God, but I sneak some stuff in there…

Like God wants us to love each other and be nice.

So (for a while) he loved everyone and was nice!

Too bad it couldn’t be everyday!

Hope that brought a chuckle to your day…

God Bless

It’s Grandma’s Day…sort of!

Last night Big Brother told everyone that tomorrow (which is today…lol) is Grandma’s Day. He told me I could do ANYTHING I want on my day.

I asked if it was ok even if I went into my bedroom or office and shut the door, allowing no one in.

Without missing a beat, he says, “Well ACTUALLY…it’s Grandma AND Big Brother day tomorrow. We can do anything we want TOGETHER!

So Happy Grandma & Big Brother Day everyone!
