I’m back from Pennsylvania and “Christmas” with the family. We had a great time but the visit was much too short.
Saturday all of us ‘girls” but my mom went downtown and took a walk and window shopped. Then we went back and opened gifts, then had lunch. Afterward we had cake (early birthday for my nephew).
I got home around 10 p.m. I still had to make my cheesecakes for church the next day.
Check back tomorrow for the recipe!
So I ended up getting to bed kind of late by the time I did everything.
Yesterday….
Church was awesome yesterday. Great worship, absolutely powerful lesson from T, a woman in our congregation.
I told her afterward, “You got the gift, girl!”
She said that was God, that she normally doesn’t teach that way.
The Garden of Serenity is revealed!
And speaking of God speaking to you…….if that makes any sense:
The other day I was out in the front yard pond/garden area. I started taking pictures for no reason really…
This is one of them:
Sometime during service or afterward, Pastor Anthony always asks if anyone wants prayer. He was saying how at one time he went up for prayer every week for about 6 months and said everyone must have thought his life was a train wreck.
I had just gone up for prayer last week. But if Pastor Anthony said come on up every week if we want, hey…
I’m in!
There are usually about 4-5 members of the prayer team up there. Last week, I had Pastor Anthony praying over me. This week, as it happened, I had Pastor Anthony again.
He started praying and said, “I see a a wrought iron gate and a garden….(few more words) a Garden of Serenity, of Peace….”
I was like, WHAT?
He continues, “I don’t know if this is real, as in the physical form or spiritual.”
I said, “Um…it’s real!”
Except I don’t have wrought iron gates leading into it, but the “feel” of it is spiritual to me and when I think of spirituality and the gates of heaven, I think of iron gates.
I had forgotten that my stepping stone said Peace in the corner of it.
Pastor Anthony said to go to my Garden Of Serenity, where it’s quiet and meditate (not sure if that was the word he used…) on God.
Only problem is, this is the front yard, with traffic going by. Of course, it’s not like a highway, so I guess it will work!
One other thing about the voice of God…I actually have 3 examples, but here’s one.
Last week, Pastor Anthony was telling a story of something that happened to another pastor he knows (or heard speak???)
Anyway, this other Pastor is ministering when he spies an old lady out in the congregation and God told him to say, “I saw you picking that duck!”
He was thinking, “God, is this YOU? Why would you tell me to say THAT?”
God said, “Tell her ‘I saw you picking that duck’ ”
So after the service, he goes up to the old lady and says, “I don’t know what this means, but God wants me to tell you this: I saw you picking that duck.”
The old lady understood:
60 years earlier, she had come to America from another country (I think it was Russia). The only job she could find was on the docks, plucking feathers from ducks.
She can remember crying out to God, “Oh God, do you see what I have to do to survive?”
God told her 60 years later, “I saw you!”
He knows all!
Isn’t that neat?
Just thought I would share!
