They’re armed and dangerous!

It’s Friday! Praise the Lord- I can go back to camp! It’s been a busy week between work, doctors and school stuff- yikes! I’m ready for the weekend!

School not going too well…in my opinion

We had open house at the school on Wednesday. Check out my homeschooling page to see how THAT went.

Then yesterday, I ran to Walmart around 1 p.m. While there, I got a recorded call from the school that there were two dangerous men in the area and the school was in lockdown. Dismissal may be delayed…

I started shaking. I tried to call my son on his (new) cell phone. No answer! I knew he was in town where this was going on. I called my stepson, who lives in town. He said someone got shot in the town park.

So I’m kind of freaking out because my daughter is in lockdown at school, probably frightened (she wasn’t, according to her). My son is on the missing list…..

What happened as far as we can piece together is:

Two men broke into an apartment (no one knows why). Shots were fired- everyone’s ok……….the suspects fled to the next apartment and broke in. The police arrived – somehow the suspects escaped. They  fled the area. They let the kids out. They are still looking for the suspects as I write this…

BTW- my son is fine-he only had $20.00 on his GO phone when he got it the other day. Already used it all up! Kids.

This is the kid (19 yrs old) who claims to hate cell phones and hasn’t had one in several years.

It was not easy to let my daughter get on that bus today, especially since she claims one of the guys went by a teachers window before they broke into the first apartment.

Could be a rumor…

This is a very small town, folks…

Sorry, this was more than a fragment…

Forget how to use your phone?

I went to dial my house phone the other day and nothing happened. Dead.

I tried again- dial the number, push the button….

I got a dial tone…

Ohhhhh…, this is the house phone. I have to push ON first, then dial the number and wait…

Don’t push any other buttons….

Shows how I often I use my house phone….

Ok, another cool new tool…..

I read about another really cool Internet tool. Go to my post here to read about it and see how it works.

Hint-hint! It’s another cool Twitter tool!

Just read this!
Tuesdays with Morrie

Ok, so I used to work in a library and should have read this by now….but didn’t.

I finished it the other day, and at the end I cried like a baby…it reminded me of my Dad, who passed away 5 yrs ago and my Grandmother who passed away a couple of years ago. You think you get beyond that, you know?

But Morrie never did…read the book if you haven’t. It’s a very easy read and really makes you look at life differently.

Another thing about Morrie…he died alone. I mean everyone had been by his side for hours and hours…they only stepped out for a drink. When they came back, he had passed.

Now in my experience, woman like to slip away alone. At least the few I know. Someone from the family had been by my Grandmothers side 24/7  for weeks….everyone was there the weekend before she passed.

The night she passed, everyone went home except my mom and uncle. They were exhausted and went to bed to catch a few zzzz’s…..Grandma slipped away during the night.

Now my Dad and brother, we were there.

Anyway, Tuesdays with Morrie was a VERY GOOD read!

Thanksgiving Weekend

It’s Thanksgiving weekend at camp.  Everyone brings something to share. I was going to make my Pumpkin Roll and Ron was going to make his hot applesauce- two of our family’s favorites…yes, I’ll share the recipes someday soon !

Believe it or not, Walmart had NO canned pumpkin, and according to the employee there is a shortage of canned pumpkin right now! They told me that one store MAY have it- 20 miles in the other direction.

Forget the pumpkin roll….

I was headed to the apples when I got the recorded call from the school……forgot the apples!

I guess we’ll go apple shopping on the way to camp!

It’s going to be hot, hot, hot!

Today anyway…about 90! Um…if you remember I wanted to turn the heat on the other day..

Ahhh…New York!

Have a great weekend everyone and don’t forget VGNO tomorrow night!
