Saturday I ambled over to my church for “Work Day”. A bunch of us went to work on various things that needed to be done – painting and varnishing, building the stage and some heavy cleaning.
Here is the new stage, almost done. It is awesome. Now the worship team won’t have to be so crowded and the Pastor can stand on the lower level to give the sermon.
I did a lot of varnishing tables- the coffee and snack tables, as well as the one’s up in the Mezzanine area.
If you’ve visited here before, you already know my church is housed in an old bar/banquet space.
The old banquet room is where we worship and hold our services. We sit at tables and chairs instead of the traditional “pews”.
Of course during worship most people stand up and some of us even go near the front by the stage. The Pastor encourages us to step forward.
Anyway, what would an old Bar/Banquet space be with out an old bar?
We have one!
But fear not- no alcohol served here! Only healthy, uplifting “spirits”!
In all seriousness, we don’t use the bar area except to maybe store some stuff. We are praying that one day the owner of the space would let us tear the bar out and make a great space for the kids.
All in all it was a great day of fellowship and our church got a face lift!
On a sad note, the pastors brother’s daughter passed away the other day. She was 2 years old I believe and had quite a few medical problems. She went into cardiac arrest.
Several of us are bringing the family meals this week. The worship night at church tomorrow night is canceled so they can have a service for the little girl.
If you are the praying sort, pray for the family of this little girl. If you are not the praying type, keep them in your thoughts.
Thanks!
Stop back tomorrow….I will have a story about another child- one going through some major health difficulties right now!

So sad about the little girl. I”ll be praying for her family. Your church looks great!
Thanks for the prayers.
It is an awesome church!
So sorry to hear of this family’s loss.
Thanks- it is so sad!
